Naval air station Oceana
Tidewater Community College
offers an accelerated degree in Electronics
Engineering Technology at NAS Oceana. The program offers students
in electronics ratings an opportunity to use their military training
and experience, college and transfer credit, and testing programs
(CLEP and DSST) to fulfill their degree requirements. Contact the

From interstate 64, take 264 East to First Colonial Road South (Exit 21A). Proceed on First Colonial Road through 2 stop lights and the road will become Oceana Blvd. Continue for 3 miles. Just past the Ocean Stables bear right onto Tomcat Blvd., the main road leading onto NAS Oceana. The Base Pass Office is located in Bldg. 252 on the right side (across from the NEX) and prior to the main gate. Once you obtain your temporary base pass, you may proceed through the main gate and continue on Tomcat Blvd. Turn left at the third intersection onto E Avenue and continue for two long blocks. The Navy College Office, Bldg. 531, is the last building on the right side of the street directly across from the Navy Exchange gas station and mini-mart. SEE

| Classrooms: |
| Classes are taught in the Navy College Office, Bldg. 531,
902 E Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA. |

instructions if a class session falls on a federal holiday.

| Parking: |
Parking is available in front of the mini-mart (next to the
gas station*) and ample parking across from the Bowling Center
(next to mini-mart*). *Need military ID to make purchases.

Access/Passes: |
|
TCC students who do not possess a Department of Defense identification
card and vehicle decal must obtain a temporary base pass and
vehicle access pass from the Oceana Base Pass Office. To verify
that you are registered for an on-base class at Oceana, the
TCC Base Representative sends a class roster to the Oceana
Base Pass Office the morning of the term start date. Students
must pick up their temporary base pass from the Oceana Pass
Office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday).
Students will be required to show their driver's license,
vehicle registration, and proof of insurance to obtain their
temporary base pass. The NAS Oceana Base Pass Office is located
just off the main entrance to the base on Oceana Blvd. Call
433-2816 to verify customer service hours.
Students who register for Saturday classes must obtain their
base pass during the business week. Students who register
for classes after the term start date (or after the class
roster has been sent) must contact the TCC Base Representative
to obtain a letter of enrollment. For questions about base
access instructions call the TCC NAS Office at (757) 491-4385.

| Classroom Rules: |
| No smoking, drinking, or eating permitted in the
classrooms or hallways by order of the Commanding Officer. There
is a tiled area with vending machines for eating or drinking.
Smoking is permitted outdoors on the loading dock near the vending
machines. There is also a fast-food eatery within walking distance
from Bldg. 531 that is open to non-military. |
