Degree Overview

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Accounting (203). This program prepares students for employment as bookkeepers or as accounting or auditing clerks.

The degree includes a set of courses which also complete a Career Studies Certificate that serves as a unique review mechanism for CPA candidates.  Additionally, the certificate courses meet federal government guidelines for accounting coursework to qualify the graduate for positions or promotion in the government workforce.

Twenty-six credit hours of accounting course work equip the student with the necessary accounting skills to sit for the Accountancy and Taxation Exam (ACAT), which is administered twice a year. Successful completion of the ACAT enables students to use the description: “Accredited in Accountancy.”
