The staff
of the Writing Center, a support service of the Languages
& Speech Division, offers free assistance on a voluntary
basis to students who are writing in any course at the college.
Help is available at these times/HOURS 
for writers of lab reports, research papers, essays, outlines,
summaries, case studies, book reviews, and other writing assignments
in any subject. Writing Center consultants are members of
the English faculty and other experts at the Virginia Beach
Campus of Tidewater Community College. They do not write,
edit, or revise student work but will suggest strategies
for improvement. The Writing Center also offers resources
to faculty through consultations about design and implementation
of writing assignments, reference materials on writing, or
short seminars on request. The Writing Center, in addition,
serves the public with the Grammar Hotline.
