Ivory Warren holds a B.S.W. (social work) and an M.S.W. (social work/clinical track) from Norfolk State University.
Her professional interests lie in the area of women’s health as well as the various/numerous that women face (e.g. inequality in the workforce, pay, domestic violence, etc.).
When not at Women's Center, Warren loves to travel, do crossword/unscramble puzzles (like the ones in VA Pilot), dance (steppin’ and others, that’s her aerobics).
"The Women's Center is a safe place for students to come and share their feelings, concerns, and needs. It is a very nurturing, open and inviting environment. We exist because we are a catalyst for change in helping women reach their highest professional and personal goals, empowering them through the many services that we offer in helping them be successful in their academics, while at TCC."
"If we lived in a society where everyone was equal, we would not have some of the problems that we are having today (or for hundreds of years). We are supposed to be equal according to our rights (“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”). Equality or at least the utopian version of it is that we sometimes envision is an illusion." |
