Volume and Surface Area Using A Rubik Cube

 

Exploring Surface Area and Volume

Directions:                                                                                                   Return to menu.
1) Print this page first by clicking on the Print button above.
2) Click on this link to a Rubik Cube and answer the questions below.

3)   Grab the cube and move it around by holding down the left mouse button.
      A)  Find the volume by counting the number of small cubes.

      B)  Find the surface area of the entire cube by counting the squares on
            each face ( side of the cube).

4)  Explain why the surface area is different from the volume
