Event Planning
Event management is the process of planning, marketing, implementing and evaluating the outcome of an organized gathering of people for social, business, educational, entertainment, or celebratory reasons. Research indicates that an average of $500 billion dollars a year is spent on special events around the world. The hotel industry reports that special events account for roughly 30% of total income.

Instructor
Charles J. Vakos, a Certified Hospitality Educator, has been teaching college level hospitality management and culinary arts for over 9 years, and has over 24 years experience in hospitality and food service business management. During his career, he has managed various special events for as many as 20,000 people including band competitions, sporting events, church events, company and naval Christmas parties, and business meetings. His broad experience will enhance your learning, bring the real world into the classroom, and prepare you for success in this growing global industry.
