Network+ Certification Training, ITEC 1035

This 40 clock hour course is designed to prepare students for CompTIA's Network+ Exam. Earning the CompTIA Network+ Certification means that students have the knowledge needed to use and maintain a wide range of network technologies.

This course provides an introduction to terms and basic communication concepts of contemporary network services, transmission media and connection hardware. Examines the OSI communication model to provide the student with a unique perspective relating to popular protocol stacks in use today, including lower layer protocols. Includes connectivity devices (bridges, switches and routers), IP addresses, subnets, TCP/IP and IPX protocol stacks. Provides conceptual understanding for any network operating system currently in use.

From this area of expertise, you will have the option of moving to more advanced IT certifications, including

Microsoft's MCITP, and Novell's CNE.

Your class Registration Form can be downloaded. Email the completed form to Ann Mead (tcmeada@tcc.edu) or fax or mail the form. Instructions for faxing and mailing are on the bottom of the registration form.

For Navy and Coast Guard Students: There is a cap of $16.67 per hour, not to exceed $4,000.00 per fiscal year for the Navy and $4,500 per fiscal year for Coast Guard students. There is also a cap of 240 clock hours or 24 CEUs per fiscal year.

Note: The original TA form shall be brought to TCC before the first day of class. Upon completion of the course, the student shall give the Navy/Coast Guard a copy of their Certificate of Completion.
