Summer 2009 Modeling and Simulation Camp Highlights
The Summer 2009 Modeling and Simulation Camp Series was a success for the second year.  Students from high schools across South Hampton Roads participated in Basic Gaming, Advanced Gaming, Computer Networking, and Web Design courses at the Tri-Cities Center in Portsmouth.    Students learned the fundamental concepts and principles within each course area while exploring the career/educational pathways in information technology including modeling and simulation. 

And, with the success of the Summer Modeling Simulation Camp Series, SEVAPORT has agreed to fund a Fall 2009 Modeling and Simulation Academy.

Summer 2009 Virtual Camp for Guidance Counselors Highlights
Guidance Counselors from across South Hampton Roads participated in this unique opportunity for exposure to the Modeling and Simulation industry at the Tri-Cities Center in Portsmouth . The counselors participated in hands-on applications of modeling and simulation at the Tri-Cities Center Modeling and Simulation Laboratory.  In addition, they visited the TCC Portsmouth Campus’ Human Simulator Laboratory and met with the Nursing Faculty.  And, the counselors met with key industry leaders and toured the Virginia Modeling,  Analysis and Simulation Center.
