What
is the Virginia Career Readiness Certificate?
The
Virginia Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is a
portable “work readiness” credential
that promotes career development and skill attainment
for the job seeker, and confirms to employers that
the job seeker possesses basic workplace skills in
reading, applied math, and locating information – skills
that most jobs require.
The CRC has a three tiered award system - bronze,
silver, and gold.
Based upon an individual's scores on the core skills
assessment areas,
an individual could earn a bronze, silver, or gold
certificate signed by the Governor.
How can I earn a Virginia Career Readiness Certificate?
To earn a Career Readiness Certificate, individuals
are tested using the three Core WorkKeys Skill assessments
(Reading for Information, Locating Information, and
Applied Mathematics).
