The Virginia Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)
What is the Virginia Career Readiness Certificate?
The Virginia Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is a portable “work readiness” credential that promotes career development and skill attainment for the job seeker, and confirms to employers that the job seeker possesses basic workplace skills in reading, applied math, and locating information – skills that most jobs require.
The CRC has a three tiered award system - bronze, silver, and gold. Based upon an individual's scores on the core skills assessment areas, an individual could earn a bronze, silver, or gold certificate signed by the Governor.
How can I earn a Virginia Career Readiness Certificate?
To earn a Career Readiness Certificate, individuals are tested using the three Core WorkKeys Skill assessments (Reading for Information, Locating Information, and Applied Mathematics). WorkKeys is a comprehensive employability skills assessment tool designed to help employers and individuals develop better workplace skills.
