TCC Governance: Curriculum Committee
Purpose
To review and recommend for approval new academic programs and academic programs to be discontinued; to consider and recommend approval of changes to existing academic programs; to review and recommend approval of new courses and changes in course numbers, titles, descriptions, credit hours, and prerequisites; and to review and recommend policies and procedures related to degree requirements for all college programs, certificates, diplomas and degrees. Reports through the Vice President for Student Learning.
The Charge 2011-2012
- Draft and implement a Curriculum Handbook for Tidewater Community College.
- Create a draft of an academic policy on Course Prerequisites and Co-requisites. This policy will be based on research and best practices. It will be drafted on the basis of shaping, informing, and/or advancing student success.
