Teaching, Learning, and
Technology Committee
The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Committee
(TLTC) is a college-wide governance group that addresses the teaching
and learning issues brought on by changes in information technology.
The TLTC explores new methods of integrating technology into the
teaching and learning process and makes recommendations to the college
for the organization and funding of technology for teaching and
learning. The TLTC enables faculty and staff to share ideas and
address concerns related to the integration of technology into instruction
and professional work, and promotes communication among faculty
who are using technology in the classroom.
The TLTC works closely with the campus Teaching,
Learning, and Technology Roundtables (TLTR). Each campus of Tidewater
Community College has its own autonomous TLTR, based on models from
the American Association of Higher Education and the non-profit
Teaching, Learning, and Technology
Group. TCC's campus TLTRs have a flexible membership; all faculty
(including adjunct), staff, and administrators are welcome to participate
in their respective TLTR. TLTR chairs, elected from each campus,
meet with the college-wide TLTC Chair, the Vice President of Academic
Affairs, the Vice President of the Office of Information Systems,
the Vice President of Educational Technology, and others to exchange
ideas and make recommendations.
