Welcome to the New Fred W. Beazley Portsmouth Campus! We have moved to a new site in the City of Portsmouth! Effective December 21, 2009, the New Portsmouth Campus is located at 120 Campus Drive, Portsmouth 23701 (at the corner of Greenwood Drive and McLean Street).
The
campus originally opened in 1968 on land in northern Suffolk donated by Frederick W. Beazley and the Beazley Foundation
for the purpose of creating a community college in south Hampton Roads.
The New Portsmouth Campus is located in the Victory Village area of Portsmouth, on 35 acres near Interstate 264 and Victory Boulevard. The New Portsmouth Campus consists of four buildings housing academic programs,
administrative offices, student services, and physical plant. Totaling 183,000
square feet, three two-story buildings house most of the instructional
programs for the Portsmouth Campus, which include the
college's nursing, administrative systems technology, computer aided drafting, air conditioning, and welding
programs, as well as an array of comprehensive programs designed
to transfer to four-year institutions. Building A houses the administrative and student services offices, deans offices, a Learning Assistance Center, some classrooms, and an innovative Learning Resources Center with a large open computer lab, in addition to the offices of the unique First College Program in partnership with the Portsmouth Public Schools. Building B houses the Beazley School of Nursing, science classrooms and labs, some general purpose classrooms, and faculty offices. Building C houses the career and technical programs, some general purpose classrooms, an academic dean's office, and faculty offices. Building D houses the campus physical plant operations.
