Tidewater Community College’s Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Support Technology provides students with an array of skills in preparation for work as administrative assistants, executive assistants or office managers in fields such as business, government, health care and education.
The curriculum offers a solid foundation in basic administrative skills training with advanced training needed in today's high-tech offices. Class instruction reflects a professional environment as students work independently on assignments and prompts designed to provide hands-on training. Students are also required to complete a 90-hour internship to gain real-world experience working in the administrative support field.

Earn valuable industry credentials! Students in this program can qualify to sit for exams including Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) from the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS).
You can earn a 2-year associate degree for the price of 1 year at a 4-year college or university.
TCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Support Technology consists of 4 semesters of full-time study, which can be taken at any campus. If your schedule doesn't permit full-time study, you can take classes part time.
