College and career pathways

TCC gives you the opportunity to achieve your education and career goals one step at a time

If you’re not ready to commit to a full-time education experience of 2 years or more, you can start with a shorter term career studies certificate. You can even enroll as a “non-curricular” student and try out a course or two.

Many TCC career studies certificates give you credits that apply to the associate degree.  If you earn a career studies certificate, you can apply those credits toward the associate degree.

A few examples:

  • Earn the Career Studies Certificate in Automotive Engine Performance and apply those 25 credits to the 68-credit Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology.
  • Earn the Certificate in Information Systems Technology and apply those 34 credits to the 66-credit Associate of Applied Science in Information Systems Technology.
  • Earn the Career Studies Certificate in Mechatronics and apply those 29 credits to the 67-credit Associate of Applied Science in Mechatronics.

In addition, many of our programs prepare you for industry exams that will provide career-boosting industry credentials.

Along the way, TCC will help you identify cooperative education and internship opportunities that will put you squarely on the career pathway you’re looking for.
