"Stars of the Pharaohs"


Travel to ancient Egypt to see how science was used to tell time, make a workable calendar, and align huge buildings. You’ll learn about the connection the ancient Egyptians felt with the stars and various astronomical phenomena, and experience some of the most spectacular temples and tombs of the ancient world recreated in all of their original splendor. Telly Award winner. Narrated by John Rhys-Davies.



Place:  Tidewater Community College Planetarium

             Virginia Beach Campus Science Building

The TCC Planetarium has a state of the art Digistar 5 Laser Projector housed in a 40 foot dome with 80 permanent seats. It produces an all-sky image.



Park in the parking lot closest to the ATC. The science building is to your left as you face the ATC. Go through the sliding doors.               Campus map

There will be a very limited number of tickets available at the door on the day of the show.  You must arrive at least 15 minutes early to guarantee your reservations.




  • Food, drinks, and chewing gum are not allowed in the planetarium.
  • No one will be admitted late, and if you leave during a show you can not be readmitted.
  • The theater is accessible to wheelchairs.
  • Must be at least 4 years old. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
