Highly-trained fiber and data cabling installers are critical to the completion of nearly all modern construction projects, as well as to the re-wiring of existing structures.

The Career Studies Certificate in Fiber and Data Cabling Installation at Tidewater Community College will prepare you for a career in the maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of fiber, data and video network systems.

You’ll be grounded in the National Electrical Code and the basics of alternating and direct current, along with:

  • installation techniques and hardware of fiber optic systems
  • construction, testing and repair of copper cables
