Solar energy is becoming more cost-effective and wind is the fastest-growing energy source, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

More than $17 trillion will be invested in renewable energy technologies over the next two decades to meet the worldwide demand for electrical power, the U.N. estimates.

That means renewable energy jobs in design, product and project management, and mechanical sales and service, field service and application engineering.

The Career Studies Certificate in Renewable Energy Technologies at Tidewater Community College prepares you for a career in this growing field. You’ll learn about the design, installation and maintenance of alternative energy systems, including solar, thermal and wind.

Receive hands-on experience at our working solar laboratory at the Chesapeake Campus.
