At TCC's Regional Automotive Center, you'll gain the skills you need to perform professional refinishing. Students who complete this certificate are prepared for an entry-level position at a collision repair facility performing refinishing work and paint defect diagnoses.
Topics of the program include vehicle preparation; paints and thinners; painting techniques; and paint defect diagnosis.
This program is supported by the Hampton Roads Autobody Association and the curriculum is industry-vetted.

Earn valuable industry credentials. Students who complete this certificate can obtain the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) certification for ProLevel 1 and 2 Refinishing.
TCC’s Collision Repair Technology: Refinishing Career Studies Certificate consists of 2 semesters of part-time study, with classes held mainly at a local repair facility.

Students are responsible for purchasing their own personal protection equipment, including steel-toed boots, respirator, safety glasses and long pants. Students must also obtain a TCC uniform shirt. If you are already working in the collision repair field, you may wear the uniform from your place of business.
Find work immediately after completing the certificate as a collision repair technician in a repair facility.
