Are you technically savvy with plenty of work experience but lacking that college degree to advance in your career field? Let Tidewater Community College’s Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies with a Specialization in Technical Supervision help you thrive.

This new program rewards you for technical skills and professional experience already mastered with up to 23 credits of advanced standing. Upon entry into the program, you will enroll in a newly designed course co-taught by TCC and Old Dominion faculty to determine how much academic credit you will be awarded for those skills. If you need additional course work to reach the 23 credits, an academic dean will help you fill the gap with college classes that align with your professional goals.

You must obtain approval from an academic dean at TCC for admission

Additional course work will include general education requirements and technical foundation classes in areas such as quality control and team building to prepare you for management and supervisory opportunities.

If you have completed a registered apprenticeship, are active duty or transitioning military or have participated in a structured company-training program, you are an excellent fit for this program.

Most classes are offered on all 4 TCC campuses with evening, hybrid and online classes available.
