TCC’s automotive technology program prepares you to begin a career as a technician in the automotive repair field or to update your training. By earning a degree or career studies certificate, you give yourself an advantage in the job market over those without formal training. TCC’s technologically advanced automotive curriculum is based on the Master Automotive Service Technology standards set forth by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation.

Associate of Applied Science - Automotive Technology

Study everything from engine repair and automotive transmissions to suspension, brakes, and engine performance in this comprehensive and hands-on curriculum. You’ll be ready to take national ASE certification exams in addition to the A/C Refrigerant Recovery License and Virginia State Inspection License.

Career Studies Certificate - Automotive Maintenance & Light Repair Technician

This certificate is designed to prepare students to become maintenance and light repair automotive technicians at automotive repair facilities. Students will prepare for the ASE certification exams in Steering and Suspension (A4) and Brakes (A5) and the VA Safety Inspection exam.

Career Studies Certificate - Automotive Technician

This certificate program is designed to prepare students to become automotive technicians at automotive repair facilities and includes preparation for the ASE certification exams in Engine Repair (A1), Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2), Manual Drive Train & Axles (A3), and Heating & Air Conditioning (A7).

TCC’s exclusive manufacturer specialization courses provide a mix of hands-on and online learning to help students achieve manufacturer certifications from Ford, Honda, Chrysler, Toyota, and Subaru! These two-year programs combine theory, hands-on work and live shop experience to give you the most up-to-date education available.

TCC’s Automotive Technology program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation. Automotive faculty are certified automobile technician by ASE.

A valid driver’s license is required for admission into any Automotive Technology program.
