Children ages 2 to 5 are learning and growing at a rapid rate, and early childhood professionals are vital to ensuring that they are prepared for success.

Whether you own or work at a child care center or care for children in your home, Tidewater Community College’s Career Studies Certificate in Preschool (CDA Equivalent) will help you work with our community’s youngest citizens.

Our 16-credit certificate prepares you to create developmentally appropriate learning environments for preschool children. Finish this program in as few as two semesters. The entire program is offered on every campus, and observation hours are built into every class.

You will be prepared to find employment in child development programs and child care agencies/centers that include preschool-aged children. Credits can be used to satisfy Head Start requirements.
