Shakespeare in the Grove Presents Othello

Description:

Othello by William Shakespeare is a tragic play centered around the themes of jealousy, manipulation, and trust. The story follows Othello, a respected Moorish general, who secretly marries Desdemona, a noblewoman. Iago, Othello’s ensign, feels slighted and begins to weave a web of deceit to ruin Othello’s life. Through cunning manipulation, Iago exploits the insecurities of those around him, especially Othello’s trust and love. As tensions rise, the characters are drawn into a spiral of suspicion and emotional turmoil.

  • Picnic: To enjoy your evening, feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chair, bug spray and a picnic basket.  The Kiwanis of Chesapeake will be there to sell food and drink as well.
