Spring Theatre Auditions

Description:

TCC Theatre will be holding open auditions for both spring shows from 7 PM – 9 PM on Wednesday, January 22nd and Thursday, January 23rd. Callbacks, if needed, will be on Friday, January 24th from 7 PM – 9 PM.

All auditions and rehearsals will take place in the Black Box Theatre in the New Academic building on the Chesapeake Campus (4102).
Each audition will take about five minutes so please have a short, memorized monologue, no longer than one minute ready for the audition.

Doubt, A Parable by John Patrick Shanley

THE STORY: In this brilliant and powerful drama, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the young Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students.
Winner of the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award. "All the elements come invigoratingly together like clockwork in John Patrick Shanley's provocative new play, DOUBT, a gripping story of suspicion cast on a priest's behavior that is less about scandal than about fascinatingly nuanced questions of moral certainty.

The cast size for Doubt - 1M and 3F
Production Dates - Thursday, February 27 – Saturday, February 29 and Wednesday, March 4 – Saturday, March 8 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, March 1 at 2 PM.
Rehearsal are tentatively scheduled for Monday – Thursday from 7 PM – 10 PM.
The read thru will take place on Thursday, September 26 from 3 PM – 6 PM
Rehearsals will start on Tuesday, October 2

Leaving Iowa by Tim Clue and Spike Manton

THE STORY: Don Browning, a middle-aged writer, who returns home and decides to finally take his father's ashes to his childhood home, as requested. But when Don discovers Grandma's house is now a grocery store, he begins traveling across Iowa searching for a proper resting place for his father. This father-and-son road trip shifts smoothly from the present to Don's memories of the annual, torturous vacations of his childhood. Don's existential journey leads him to reconcile his past and present at the center of the United States. Leaving Iowa is a postcard to anyone who has ever found himself or herself driving alone on a road, revisiting fond memories of his or her youth.

The cast size for Leaving Iowa is available for 3M and 3W and can be expanded to fill more roles.
Production Dates – Thursday, April 2 – Saturday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 8 – Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, April 5 at 2 PM.
Rehearsal are tentatively scheduled for Monday – Thursday from 3 PM – 6 PM, but we may move the rehearsal from Monday – Thursday from 7 PM – 10 PM. depending on people’s conflicts
The read thru will take place on Monday, February 10 from 3 – 6 PM.
Rehearsals will start on Tuesday, February 11.
