Civilian access to military bases
If you have registered for courses being held at these military installations and you do not have a valid military ID card, you must do the following at least 10 working days before your first class. You may be denied access to the military installation if you fail to complete these steps.
- Obtain a temporary access pass from the installation’s Pass and Identification Office. The process to obtain a pass includes a background check, which takes 7 to 10 business days (excluding federal holidays).
You must take the following actions to obtain a pass:- Complete the Department of the Navy Local Population ID Card/Base Pass Registration form. Email the completed form to the TCC contact listed above for the installation where the class will be held.
- Keep a copy for yourself, and take it to the Pass and Identification Office along with the following documents: two valid government-issued forms of identification (driver’s license, state-issued ID card, passport or Social Security Card). One of them must be a photo ID. A valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance if you plan to drive and park on base.
