Student orientation sessions can be completed on campus or online. Students participating in orientation at a campus will have instant access to a counselor or advisor who will assist with course selection and registration. Students who participate in the online version can seek assistance from an online advisor through email at e-advisor@tcc.edu.

Student Development Courses provide students with the knowledge and resources necessary to make the transition to college smoother. Among the topics are career exploration and development, college resources, academic planning, time management, financial literacy and wellness.

The program also includes Academic Alert, an early intervention program for students identified as having academic difficulties early in the semester. The program provides feedback from instructors and counselors to help students investigate and implement student support services and other recommended actions that will help them succeed.
