TCC ANNOUNCES NEW VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (July 23, 2013)
— Charles “Chuck” Lepper is the new vice president for student affairs at Tidewater Community College.
With more than 15 years of higher education and executive leadership experience, Lepper assumed the role on July 22. He comes to TCC after serving as assistant vice president for student development services in the System Office of Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana, a 23-campus system that serves more than 200,000 students annually. Before his nine years at Ivy Tech, Lepper worked in student affairs for the University of Western Michigan.
“Chuck brings a breadth of experience from both the system- and campus-level perspective, having served as the chief campus student affairs officer at a community college as well as in student services positions at three four-year institutions,” President Edna V. Baehre-Kolovani said.
Lepper will provide strategic, college-wide leadership for TCC’s institutional focus on student success. He will oversee Student Success, Central Records, Student Leadership Development and Community Engagement and the Open Door Project. One of his primary areas of emphasis will be student retention and completion leading to successful transfer and employment.
“I’m ecstatic to be part of Tidewater Community College and the Hampton Roads community,” Lepper said. “I look forward to contributing to the success of our students and our region.”
A Norfolk resident, Lepper holds a doctorate in educational administration from Indiana State University, a master’s in secondary, higher and adult education from Grand Valley State University and a bachelor’s in human resources and personnel from Ball State University.
