Associate of Applied Science - Computer-Aided Drafting & Design

This program teaches the principles of computer-aided drafting and design through a hands-on curriculum that reflects current industry standards. Students gain expertise designing in AutoCAD and Inventor software and using 3-D printing to visualize and validate designs. With this degree, you’ll be ready to transfer to a four-year program of study or enter a high-paying career in areas that support manufacturing, engineering, construction, shipbuilding, and more!

Associate of Applied Science - Specialization in Architectural Drafting & Design Technology

Course work in this specialization includes training in computer software, construction materials and methods, site and landscape design, rendering and animation, engineering mechanics, print reading and cost estimating. You’ll learn a full array of design skills, including manual drawing and architectural model building. Students may prepare to transfer to a bachelor’s degree program in architecture or civil engineering.

In one year or less you’ll learn engineering drawing fundamentals and the basics of computer-aided drafting and design. Acquire skills in basic drafting, become familiar with AutoCAD software and rapid prototyping/3D printing, and gain an introduction to common standards and practices used in preparing engineering and architectural drawings.
