Mission Statement: The Cybercenter at Tidewater Community College is intended to disseminate cyberdefense information into the local, regional, and national cyberdefense community of interest. This includes information on cyberdefense resources, career opportunities, conferences, programs of study, scholarships, partner organizations, faculty contacts, student activities, and certifications as well as a Cybersecurity blog intended to push out updates and news on emerging threats.

National Security Agency and Homeland Security Seals

The Cyber Security Program is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE2Y) for Two-Year schools (NSA-CAE2Y) by the National Security Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Since its inception, TCC’s network security/cyber security curriculum has been aligned with national standards for cybersecurity established and maintained by National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) and NSA. Read more

TCC is a long-standing member of the National CyberWatch Center, a national consortium of colleges and universities focused on cybersecurity education.

TCC is a longstanding member of the National CyberWatch Center, a consortium of higher education institutions, businesses, and government agencies focused on collaborative efforts to advance Information Security education/research and strengthen the national cybersecurity workforce.

Peregrine Technical Solutions is TCC’s first official cybersecurity industry partner.

TCC is the official training partner for the region’s International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC^2), the standards body that administers the Certified Information Systems Security Practitioner (CISSP).

The TCC Women’s Center STEM Promise Program pays tuition and fees for students to complete 2 full academic years at TCC. This academic program is eligible for the scholarship.
