Hampton Roads’ marine industry is growing at a rapid pace, and marine technicians are needed in large numbers to keep the recreational and commercial fleets operating at full capacity. In Tidewater Community College’s marine gasoline engine technology program, you’ll be involved in a hands-on curriculum that emphasizes practical experience. Along with classroom instruction, you’ll spend extensive time in the shop working on real marine engines and equipment under the guidance of certified, experienced instructors.

Career Studies Certificate - Marine Gasoline Engine Technology

Learn how to maintain, diagnose and repair marine inboard and outboard engines in our hands-on classrooms. In addition to gaining expertise in marine maintenance mechanics, basic marine electrical circuits and hydraulics, you’ll train to maintain, diagnose and repair marine inboard and outboard engines and stern drive transmission systems.

The Marine Gasoline Engine Technology Career Studies Certificate is approved by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) as a Marine League School.
