In addition to building your skills in general pharmacology and medical terminology, the curriculum provides real-world, hands-on experience.

Career Studies Certificate - Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technicians order, stock, package, prepare, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You’ll also be prepared to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination to become a Pharmacy Technician (Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Pharmacy).

Additional Program Information:

Students will prepare to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examinations in order to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Admission to the pharmacy technician program is very selective and requires a separate application in addition to general admission to the college.

To qualify for this competitive program, you will need to complete your program application by the following deadlines:

  • October 1 to November 1 for Spring Semester
  • March 1 to April 1 for Summer Semester
  • June 1 to July 1 for Fall Semester
