Constituent Groups




  • Identifies workforce training areas that should be targeted by TCC
  • Assesses current workforce training projects for effectiveness
  • Develops TCC as a proactive player in Regional Economic Development
  • Provides a forum for the exchange of ideas between college academic and non-credit programs
  • Reports through the Vice President for Workforce Solutions









1. Through the Committee Chair, identify one or more areas not presently being served by Workforce Solutions through which TCC can become a proactive player in regional economic development. 

2. In conjunction with the Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions and the Associate Vice President for Operations and Special Programs, assess at least one current workforce training project for its effectiveness. 
Through the Committee Chair, identify means to ensure the effective flow of communication between staff in the Division of Workforce Solutions and Academic and Student Services staff. 

3. Through the Committee Chair, participate in the deliberations for the President’s Advisory and Planning Council (PAPC), keeping the group informed as appropriate about the work of the committee.

4. Prepare an annual report (to include major accomplishments, unfinished business, and future recommendations) to be submitted at the end of the academic year to the chair of the PAPC and to the Office of The Vice President For Workforce Solutions, no later than May 1.

5. The work of the Workforce Solutions Governance Committee is particularly critical to the college's strategic goal to contribute to the sustainable economic, social and cultural development of South Hampton Roads by making investments that ensure its continued ability to serve the region with programs that answer to emerging needs in workforce training.



Meetings are held on the Third Monday of each month, September through May,
or as scheduled.

  • One representative from each of the key areas of the Workforce Solutions Division including one Director
  • One Faculty Member from each campus appointed by the Provost
  • Two Classified Employees appointed by the Classified Association
  • Associate Vice President for Occupational/Technical Education (Ex Officio)

This committee is allowed up to three members appointed as directed by the PAPC and, if necessary, the PAPC is directed to use the appointments to ensure that each campus has at least one Representative on the committee.
