Career Studies Certificate - Truck Driving

Learn how to drive a truck in state-of-the-art simulators that allow you to practice in varied road and weather conditions. Course work qualifies you to obtain your Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license) from the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Career Studies Certificate in Truck Driving prepares students to obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) which allows them to drive tractor trailer trucks. In addition, it will allow them to drive Class B trucks such as buses, dump trucks, and straight trucks.

Students must have a valid Virginia driver’s license and a record free of serious violations. Students must also pass a Department of Transportation medical examination and drug/alcohol screening.

Admission to the truck driving program is selective. General admission to the college does not guarantee you will be admitted. Students must submit all required documentation to be considered for admission and to complete registration.
