Tidewater Community College’s Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Technology prepares you for a variety of careers helping to design and construct electronic circuits to solve practical problems in engineering.
You will learn the fundamentals of DC and AC, digital electronics, amplifiers and integrated circuits and microprocessors from instructors with practical industry knowledge who incorporate real-world projects into your course work.
Students explore the flow of charge through various materials and devices such as semiconductors, resistors and inductors in a state-of-the-art electronics lab with the same equipment and software used on the job.
One of the most advanced training labs in the state helps you master the practical skills you need to work with, repair and troubleshoot analog and digital electronics.
An associate degree in electronics technology allows you to enter the workforce immediately as an electronics engineering technician, field service technician, instrumentation technician, maintenance technician, electronic tester or electronic systems integrator. Paid internships may lead to employment.
Many students choose to continue their education and transfer their credits towards a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology.
