Career Studies Certificate - Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technicians order, stock, package, prepare, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You’ll also be prepared to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examination to become a Pharmacy Technician (Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Pharmacy).

Students will prepare to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Examinations in order to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).

Admission to the pharmacy technician program is very selective and requires a separate application in addition to general admission to the college. Applications are accepted throughout the year. You must be 18 years of age or older to qualify for the program internship.

This program prepares students to sit for professional exams and/or apply for professional licensure that is required for employment in the related occupation in Virginia.
