Step 1 – Attend an advising session

First time college students (who have never attended another college or university post-high school graduation) must attend a New Student Group Advising Session. Instructions for scheduling a New Student Group Advising Session can be found here. If you cannot access Navigate or need assistance registering for a group advising session, connect with the advising office by email or by calling (757) 822-1111.

Returning students can meet with an advisor. Click here to schedule an appointment.

It’s important to select an academic program of study to be eligible for financial aid and graduation. Please complete this form if you did not select a program on your application or to change your program. If you are unsure of your program, select Associate of Science – General Studies.

Step 2 – Register for classes

Check out our academic programs by pathway for a list of classes you need to take to complete a certificate or degree. Follow these steps to register online.

Students using tuition assistance should contact their education office prior to enrolling in class. For assistance, contact the Center for Military and Veterans Education at military@tcc.edu or 757.822.7645.

Step 3 – Secure your educational benefits.

Active-duty personnel intending to use Tuition Assistance (TA) should contact Military@tcc.edu for questions or assistance in getting TA approved for your branch of service and enrollment at TCC.

  • Active military students, veterans, spouses and dependents classified as out of state during the application process should review domicile exceptions that may allow you to be classified as in state for tuition purposes.
  • Veterans, dependents, and spouses who are considering using education benefits must submit an Enrollment Certification Request (ECR) each semester.

For any questions, please contact CMVESupport@tcc.edu.

Step 4 – Arrange to pay for your tuition

If you are not using educational benefits, TCC offers options including payment plans, and scholarships. Discover your payment options here.

Please be aware of tuition deadlines which vary based on the start date of the class.

Get your TCC student ID card – please wait at least 24 hours after registering for classes to get your student ID card. This can be done at any of the campus Student Centers. Bring your valid state-issued ID card along with your student ID number.

Purchase your textbooks and materials at the Barnes and Noble bookstore online or on the Virginia Beach campus.
