Department of Defense online college fair to link troops with TCC

Tidewater Community College representatives will join counselors from each branch of the military for the inaugural Department of Defense virtual education fair on Nov. 19.

The free fair begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at 6 p.m.

Active and transitioning military will be able to find what educational and financial resources are available to them at TCC, which is one of 43 colleges participating nationwide.

Prospective students will be able to speak to representatives from TCC’s Center for Military and Veterans Education. Counselors from the Department of Defense Voluntary Education Offices at the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps will be available to answer questions.

In addition, counselors from Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) will be on hand to discuss college-level examinations and credit for standardized tests.

Registration for the fair is required and can be done easily at www.dodeducationfair.com.

Only usernames will be shared with participating schools to prevent participants from receiving unsolicited contact.
