Drive on over to TCC’s Regional Automotive Center Open House Oct. 26
Hoping to rev your automotive career into high gear? Start by attending Tidewater Community College’s Regional Automotive Center (RAC) Open House on Oct. 26.
The open house runs 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the center, which is located at 600 Innovation Drive, off Clearfield Avenue in Chesapeake’s Oakbrooke Business & Technology Center.
The center welcomes high school students, parents, teachers, recent graduates, adult learners and community members to visit with instructors and check out equipment and vehicles. The facility features nine classrooms and 15 instructional laboratory bays.
The RAC is Hampton Roads’ only high-tech training facility for today’s automotive technician. The center offers classes in:
- automotive maintenance and repair
- collision repair
- marine technology and
- diesel technology.Prospective students can speak with training representatives from national manufacturers, including Toyota, Ford, Honda, Volvo Penta, Chrysler, Cummins and Yamaha. Local industry representatives will be on hand to speak about career opportunities for TCC graduates.
Also, the latest vehicles, trucks, boats and equipment will be on display in the RAC parking lot.
