MLK Scholarship Program

This scholarship recognizes a student who best exemplifies the teachings and example of Dr. King; advocates a nonviolent approach to solving society’s problems; fosters positive race relations in our community; strives to remove the social, political, and economic barriers of inequality; and possesses a realistic optimism, based on faith, of a better future for all Americans.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must:
- Be currently enrolled for at least 9 credits at Tidewater Community College
- Be in good academic standing, with a 2.5 or higher GPA
- Have completed at least 15 credit hours at TCC
- Provide evidence of community service or service learning experience (continuous committed service
in the community)
- Submit a completed application by the due date
