See the planets and stars up close by taking astronomy

for daytime and nighttime viewings of the sky.
Behind-the-scenes in Astronomy I (NAS 131).
Inside the classroom: Learn about the history of astronomy and its recent developments. Study and observe the solar system, stars and galaxies, and take advantage of extra-credit assignments that include a 4 a.m. viewing of the sky. Students also spend plenty of time in the planetarium, where 2-D concepts become 3-D wonders. Bonus: You might get to take a spin on the hovercraft.
Student voice on taking Astronomy with Professor David Wright: “He makes it entertaining. He makes showing up to class worth it. His passion for teaching is obvious. He’s like the cool grandpa. He lets you do things your mom would never let you do!” – Shannon Gorell
Why this class sizzles: “I love the involvement of the students. We’re actually looking at the stars and the planets using the planetarium and the observatory. That’s a lot more fun than just being in a lecture.” – Professor David Wright
