TCC and LifeNet Health partner for innovative training opportunity in embalming

Tidewater Community College’s Center for Workforce Solutions will partner with LifeNet Health to bring licensed funeral directors and embalmers an innovative training opportunity that will include a live embalming demonstration.

The continuing education program will take place on Sunday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at LifeNet Health’s Institute of Regenerative Medicine, 1884 Concert Drive in Virginia Beach.

Frank Walton, program head for TCC’s funeral service program, will perform the embalming demonstration at 11 a.m.

The program will demonstrate and answer procedural questions related to recovery and reconstruction as well as best practices for embalming following donation. Training also includes discussion of pre-need law, Virginia law and cremation law.

All participants earn a certificate of completion and five Continuing Education Units.
