TCC automotive programs pass mid-term reviews for accreditation

Four automotive programs at TCC’s Regional Automotive Center (RAC) have passed their mid-term review for national accreditation by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).

The four programs are: General Automotive, Chrysler’s CAP, Honda’s PACT, and Toyota’s T-TEN program.

To be accredited, each program must meet 11 standards, with the RAC Advisory Committee validating the work with the accrediting body.

The NATEF certified automotive technology programs at TCC prepare students for careers in the automotive field and provide updated training for those already working. Students learn general automotive repair, servicing and diagnostics, which include theoretical and practical training in engine overhaul, engine performance, transmissions, power trains, wheel alignment, suspension, brakes, electrical systems and air conditioning.
