TCC to offer new associate degree in mechanical engineering technology
The 65-credit Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology prepares graduates to work in a variety of fields ranging from industrial laboratories to shipyards to governmental and military commands – essentially any organization that supports mechanical engineers.
Those who work in mechanical engineering technology are the bridge between an engineer’s specifications for a mechanical product and the finished work. They interpret a design and use software to create blueprints. They provide the process for the manufacturing team, often testing designs and materials to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Students wishing to transfer to a four-year program in mechanical engineering technology will be well positioned to do so.
Classes will be available during the day, evening and online. Military-related students are encouraged to apply.
Summer classes begin May 22.
