TCC’s English professors to share original poetry, Feb. 27

Three English faculty members at Tidewater Community College will share readings from original works on Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m., at Café Stella, 1907 Colonial Ave., in Norfolk.

Rick Alley, Doug Thiele and Tom Williams are all publishing poets.

Alley has published two books of poems, “August Machine” (Finishing Line Press) and “Talking Book of July” (Eastern Washington Press). His work was also featured in “The Next Generation, American Poets Under 40.”

Thiele will publish a book of lyrics in May, “Letters By Moonlight” (Firelight Publishing Company).

Williams is the author of three collections of poems: “Face Off,” “Bombing the House of God” and “Decked: New and Slightly Damaged Poems, 2002-2012” (All Nations Press).

Proceeds from the event will benefit Hope House, which provides individualized, supported living and in-home services for adults with intellectual disabilities.
