TCC’s Regional Automotive Center Opens Doors Oct. 28

Tidewater Community College’s Regional Automotive Center (RAC) will hold its open house on Oct. 28, welcoming high school students, parents, teachers and community members to visit the facility.

The RAC is Hampton Roads’ only high-tech training facility for today’s automotive technician. The center also offers training in Collision Repair, Marine Technology and Diesel Technology.

The open house will be held between 9 a.m. and noon at the RAC, 600 Innovation Drive in Chesapeake. The facility features nine classrooms and 15 instructional laboratory bays – including one that accommodates a tractor-trailer. During the open house, guests can visit with instructors and check out classrooms, equipment and vehicles.

Potential students can learn about TCC’s Automotive, Collision Repair, Diesel Technology and Marine Technology programs and speak with representatives from national manufacturer programs, including Toyota T-TEN, Honda PACT, Volvo Penta and MOPAR Career Automotive Program (Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Fiat).

Local representatives from industry will be on hand to speak with attendees about career opportunities for TCC graduates.

Registration is not required. For information, call Dave Brown at 757-822-5072 or email dfbrown@tcc.edu.
