Two-man painting exhibition opens at TCC’s Visual Arts Center
The opening reception will be May 5 at 7 p.m. with an informal gallery talk preceding the event at 6:30 p.m.
Events are free and open to the public. The exhibition continues through July 7.
“Imagination Land” features paintings by Williamsburg’s David Campbell and South Carolina’s Brian Rego. The two artists met at Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and have exhibited their work together in numerous programs. They cofounded the painting collective, Perceptual Painters, which believes inspiration comes from perceptual response.
Their works are narrative and expressive, depicting pictorial imagery that is wonderfully strange, full of surprises and often humorous.
The exhibition will display 70 paintings on subjects that include landscapes, still lifes and figurative works that offer an effective use of color, light and texture.
