Visual Arts Center students, faculty paint to sacred Bach composition

Canvases came to life as students and faculty from Tidewater Community College’s Visual Arts Center painted to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The finished artwork will be on display at the Roper Performing Arts Center on April 28 for Bach’s B-Minor Mass, performed by ensembles from the Juilliard School and Yale University. The paintings will be moved to the VAC on April 30, where they will be on display through May.

Student John Earle, who has two pieces in the show, will be painting live during the Sunday concert, which begins at 8 p.m.
