TCC’s nurse aide training earns continued approval

Tidewater Community College’s nurse aide training has earned continued approval by the Virginia State Board of Nursing.

Nurse aide programs in Virginia are reviewed every two years for compliance with state regulations and commitment to quality. The Virginia Board of Nursing is the governing body for licensure, nurse aide registry and approved training programs.

Nurse aides provide basic care to patients who are temporarily or permanently unable to care for themselves. Students complete all the instruction in approximately three weeks. Multiple options are available depending on the student’s schedule.

Course work qualifies students to sit for the Certified Nurse Aide Exam offered by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Almost all students find immediate employment, many prior to graduation.
