Tidewater Community College offers a variety of innovative specialty programs designed to serve student needs. These dynamic class formats allow students to pursue college credits in a way that works for their unique needs.
In many cases these specialty programs allow you to get the credits you need even faster and with even less student debt.
Accelerated Degree
Fast-track your transfer to a four-year school to complete a bachelor’s degree with two degrees offered in the accelerated format: the Associate of Science degrees in Business Administration and General Studies.

Apprenticeship Institute
Tidewater Community College’s Apprenticeship Institute partners with Hampton Roads employers to develop tailored apprenticeship programs that result in your desired workforce outcome. At no cost to the employer, apprenticeship consultants are available to guide companies through the registered apprenticeship development process from initial concept to full recognition by the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry and/or the U.S. Department of Labor.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
TCC offers classes for students whose first language is not English. Classes and counseling are designed to help students successfully speak English in and out of class. Day and evening classes meet on the Virginia Beach Campus.
High School Dual Enrollment
The Dual Enrollment Program at TCC is offered to high school juniors and seniors enrolled in one of the local participating schools. This program allows students to take college-level courses that fulfill both high school and college graduation requirements. Currently, TCC has agreements to offer the Dual Enrollment program with the following schools or school systems: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach. Interested high school students should speak with their school counselor.
